Description: Michelle Hopkins: We believe art uplifts and brings us all together. Throughout the building, visitors will find over 1,000 works of art, to inspire them throughout their time with us. Andrea Cooks, Human Factors Consultant: We work with a lot of local artists here in Cincinnati. The goal was to provide art that would inspire not only our patients and families, but also our hospital staff as we walk through these halls, every day. Cedric Michael Cox, Artist: It's an honor to have my work at Cincinnati Children's because I want my work to inspire a vast variety of different people. The work itself is meant to heal and to bring joy. Michelle Hopkins: In a city known for its murals, our “Fountain of Life” is one of the large-scale pieces that will greet our kids. On each floor, families can look for designated icons or friends. These friends add a sense of fun to the room and are even playfully hidden in the wallpaper to be discovered by our young patients. Lindsey Justice, DNP, APRN, Heart Institute: The Critical Care Building is designed to uplift the emotional needs of our patients and families while they are staying with us by providing them with artwork that they can enjoy and can help to distract them from the events of the day when things become stressful. Cedric Michael Cox, Artist: When they look at the work, they're thinking about the work but at the same time, they're thinking about other positives, other emotions. Michelle Hopkins: We're dedicated to providing hope to the children and families who come here for care. Pursuing Our Potential Together, so all kids can pursue theirs.
